KICK-OFF PICNIC: COMO PARK MIDWAY PAVILION

We are excited to kick off our summer activities with a picnic in beautiful Como Park! We will enjoy a pig roast courtesy of This Little Piggy Catering, lawn games, and fabulous giveaways. This event is not to be missed! It is a great opportunity to get connected with MIX and meet interns throughout the Twin Cities.

MULTICULTURAL IMMERSION: MIDTOWN GLOBAL MARKET

By far, our biggest event of the summer! Come along with MIX as we explore Midtown Global Market. The sights, the sounds, the tastes, and the smells are sure to create an exciting and memorable experience for all. The highly energetic and entertaining guest speaker, Phyllis Braxton from PINK LLC, will be presenting on the topic of “Accepting Differences in the Workplace.” Her inspiration is sure to motivate all to participate in the scavenger hunt, cooking lessons which includes food from the Caribbean, Asia, and Mexico, and dancing lessons – salsa style!! Lunch will be served through the option of Market Money. This is an all day event and transportation will be provided. Why spend hundreds on a trip to a foreign country when you can spend a day with MIX and travel the world for FREE!

COMMUNITY SERVICE: FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN

Like many organizations in the Twin Cities, MIX also looks to give back to the community. Giving is much better than receiving. Please donate your time with MIX as we help feed starving children in Africa and throughout the world. Feed My Starving Children is located in Eagan, MN and has three locations throughout Minnesota and is slowly expanding. This organization runs strictly off donations and unfortunately does not have the capacity to feed all the children in need. Together, we will be making packets of food that provides 6 meals for a starving child. Let’s prove to the world that one person truly can make a difference!

FAREWELL: ST. PAUL SAINTS BASEBALL GAME

On Tuesday, August 4th, you have the opportunity to attend the Saint’s game at Midway Stadium and to network one last time as a 2009 MIX group. The event will begin with a picnic at 5:30 pm. Upon arriving, please check-in with the MIX Representatives on-site to obtain your ticket and picnic information. At 7:05, the St. Paul Saint’s will take on Wichita. Prior to the game, we will take a 2009 MIX group photo on the field. Don’t miss out on this chance to share internship stories and exchange contact information with your fellow MIX members. We hope to see you there!
